KFCRIS signed MoU with Ministry of Culture to enhance scientific and cultural cooperation
The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Culture aimed at enhancing scientific and cultural cooperation between the two sides, and supporting joint research programs and initiatives that seek to enrich national cultural content and strengthen Saudi identity.
The MoU was signed by HRH Prince Turki AlFaisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the KFCRIS, and HH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture. The signing took place at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the presence of leaders and officials from both sides.
HRH Prince Turki AlFaisal expressed his pride in this collaboration, emphasizing that the partnership with the Ministry of Culture is an extension of the Center’s role in advancing scientific research and supporting cultural projects that highlight national identity and enhance joint cultural work through an approach that integrates academic research with institutional practice.
He explained that the cooperation with the Ministry opens broad avenues for joint programs that elevate the level of knowledge production in the Kingdom. He noted that this memorandum represents a starting point for distinguished research and cultural initiatives, particularly in the fields of translation, documentation, and the preparation of specialized studies. He added that the Center seeks to provide rigorous content that supports the Ministry’s efforts to develop the cultural sector and highlight the historical and intellectual elements that enrich Saudi identity.
For his part, His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture, affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the non-profit sector, given its vital role in advancing cultural fields. He praised the efforts of the King Faisal Foundation for Research and Islamic Studies in supporting cultural sectors and scientific research.
The MoU outlines cooperation in organizing scientific and cultural conferences and seminars, conducting specialized studies, and implementing documentation, translation, and publishing projects that contribute to enhancing local cultural content. It also includes supporting research initiatives and benefiting from specialized technical expertise in developing knowledge tools and making them accessible to researchers.
This MoU comes as part of efforts to strengthen the partnership between the two sides and advance joint work to enrich cultural and research content, specialized studies, and national initiatives in areas related to cultural heritage. It aims to enhance knowledge production, enable researchers and specialists to access reliable academic sources, and open broad opportunities for integration between research and cultural efforts in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to elevate the cultural sector and empower its institutions.
