A New Partnership between KFCRIS and ALECSO to Support the “Arab Narrative” Tracks and Develop Its Cultural Programs

Date: December 7, 2025

The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) signed an addendum to their cooperation agreement on Sunday, December 7, 2025. This addendum supplements the cooperation agreement previously signed by the two parties on October 5,  2025, and aims to strengthen collaboration between them in the fields of education, culture, science, heritage, and knowledge.

The addendum seeks to enhance institutional partnership between the two sides in the areas of thought, culture, and scientific research, particularly with regard to the programs of the “Arab Narrative” project launched by the Center three years ago, for which it oversees the development of its various tracks.

The Center was represented at the signing ceremony by HRH Prince Turki AlFaisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the KFCRIS, while ALECSO was represented by HE Professor Mohamed Ould Amar, Director-General of the Organization. The participation of both sides reflected their shared commitment to building a high-quality partnership grounded in the Center’s research and academic expertise and ALECSO’s leading intellectual role in supporting Arab culture.

The addendum outlines a range of areas for cooperation, most notably the organization of specialized scientific and cultural seminars and conferences on issues related to the Arab narrative; the development of in-depth scientific research exploring the trajectories of Arab thought and its connections with human knowledge; and the enhancement of the initiative’s cultural content through the utilization of specialized expertise in history, language, heritage, and interdisciplinary studies. Through these efforts, both parties aim to provide a research environment capable of producing rigorous knowledge that contributes to consolidating the Arab narrative and presenting it anew to academic and cultural audiences within the Arab world and beyond.

The agreement also resulted in the approval by both parties to establish the “ALECSO Chair at the King Faisal Center for Islamic Arab Crafts.”
